Uzbekistan has vigorously attracted foreign investment in the photovoltaic field

The Uzbek government plans to capture more than 30% of renewable energy power projects by 2030, while promoting electricity reform to attract foreign investors.

The Tutly photovoltaic project, developed by the French company Total Eren, is one of the first concentrated large and medium-sized ground power stations in Uzbekistan. Located 100 kilometres west of Samarcanda city, the PV plant was invested in the COD link in July 2022 with £100 million in overseas investment. 20221220

"The photovoltaic power station has an installed capacity of 131MW, which generates about 270,000kWh of power projects every year, sufficient to provide electricity demand for 140,000 households. From an investment point of view, the project in Uzbekistan has more advantages. Uzbekistan gets more than 330 days of sunshine every year, and I hope to continue to develop and design projects in Uzbekistan, said Ayzada Seitniyazova, France's Total Eren Head of Uzbekistan. 20221226

In recent years, the Uzbek government has carried out in-depth reforms and innovations, paving the way for international personal assets to enter renewable energy projects. The government ensures that the Group's power sector purchases green electricity on a long-term basis. The Overseas Investment Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, applies Uzbekistan to actually build public-private partnerships in the renewable energy sector. 20221226

"So far, Uzbekistan has created photovoltaic projects exceeding 1,000 kVA, in addition to 800 kVA projects in the bidding process. Investors from Bangladesh, Dubai, China, South Korea and Japan have shown good interest in photovoltaic projects in Uzbekistan. Zafar Khashimov, IFC level responsible, said. 20221226

Small and mediumsized enterprises in Uzbekistan also widely use photovoltaic power generation, especially in the agrosolar complementary industry. In addition, photovoltaic panels are installed on the roof of a garment factory in Samarcanda. China can also require a tenyear tax exemption policy in the form of a public law, and the government will give a tax exemption policy to small and medium-sized land users with photovoltaic panels.
